Thanks for the input! I think the idea got derailed a bit - it started as a way to quickly show/hide elements, but progressed to a complex visibility indicator. It kind of makes sense to have such a feature, but it is likely impossible to make work correctly as there are many different ways to hide an element.
We won't be implementing this just yet, but this thread will remain open to continue the discussion.
