How to create a slider for homepage that contains some text over image?
I think you are referring to the Carousel component? By default the Caption text is not enabled, but you can turn that on in the Options pane (top/right) once you have drag/dropped the Carousel on to your project and selected the Carousel. You can also change the default image to you of your chosen imported images from there as well.
