AI Assistant: Account Type

I’ve used a free Google Cloud AI key to test BSS’s AI integration. Apparently my Google account’s free trial is about to end, and Google requires me to upgrade to a paid account for my account to remain valid. I can’t understand the bevy of Google Cloud products, and I don’t know what product BSS AI integration uses under the hood. Is anyone able to advise what BSS requires, so I can try to work out how much I might need to pay Google?

I am not sure what you mean about a trial, if you obtain the key from Google’s AI studio you should be able to get a free api key. At least on my account I don’t see this being a trial. Maybe this is something for new accounts?

Bootstrap Studio’s AI Assistant makes direct API calls to the cloud provider, and APIs are usually pay per token. If you are not using a free api key, it may cost you 5-10 $ per month, but it all depends on how much you use it. OpenRouter has some free models that you can experiment with as an alternative.

Thanks for the reply, Martin. I seem to have a Google Cloud AI key, which has a limited-duration free trial. I didn’t know that Google provided two (or more) different ways to get a key. They don’t make it easy!
