Hello. I haven’t opened BSS for a couple of days, but when I opened it today, a few things started to happen. What seemed like random intervals, the entire program would just become gray for a couple of seconds. This would happen sometimes when I click on the elements like text, for example. Besides the random blackout, the program is also incredibly slow, like never before. It is very strange behaviour. I have rebooted my PC and tomorrow I will reinstall the program to see if that helps. Let me know if anyone else is experiencing this or if it is just me so I can try and troubleshoot it. Thank you in advance.
How did you get on with the re-install?
I just did that and also reinstalled my graphics driver, as the issue seems related to my GPU. See the attached screenshot. After these two steps, the program going gray for a few milliseconds when clicking on elements, changing the HTML file in the viewport, or opening menus has improved by about 30%. The lag when opening menus, like settings, is almost gone. However, every time the gray flickers appear, my GPU’s 3D usage spikes, as shown in the image. I will try to make a video.
Ok, hang on, I think I know what the culprit is. I tested to see if this issue persisted in other projects, and it doesn’t. It seems to only happen with websites that have custom code or some kind of embeds. Another project I have does the same thing, but much less frequently, and it also has two or three different embeds on the site.
I think the reason it happens so much in this specific project is that I’m loading a video from a link onto the background using only custom code. I don’t know if, in the latest update, the developers did something to display the effects of custom code in real time, because I remember not being able to see the video until checking the preview in the browser.
Sorry to hear you’ve run into issues! If possible can you send us the bsdesign file to hi@bootstrapstudio.io so we can investigate further?
Here is an update. This was 100% an issue with my PC, I still do not know what exactly fixed it, but here is what I did. I reinstalled BSS (didn’t work) then I deleted the “bstudio” folder (maybe it fixed it a little bit, but not 100%). Then I reset all my Nvidia settings and changed the 3D settings to performance. This seems to have done the trick. But I will need to test further in the coming days to check its reliability. I haven’t changed my Nvidia settings in months, so it’s strange why this happened from one day to the other. Cheers! (And I also changed the titlebar style to native.)
