Hi, I’m a new user and I’ve been trying to get the AI assistant to work with my local models.
I’ve been using Gemini to try to help me for almost two hours now trying everything under the sun and we still cannot get it to work.
I have Ollma installed, confirmed it’s running, but when I go into the settings for the AI assistant, I can pick Ollama, but then nothing shows up in the drop down window next to it to pick any of the models that I have installed.
We’ve tried forcing it to connect and everything through my terminal. Still cannot get it to work.
Okay, I got it working. I had put some stuff in the one field that I needed to leave empty was the problem. Google kept giving me information to put in that was making it not work. I tell you, Google Gemini is wrong constantly.
So I have Qwen 3.5b running.
What would you recommend for a local model that would be good for this and run fast?
I also set up an API key for Kimi K 2.5 I think it was that says it connected but every time I try to use it it just starts and immediately stops. It was supposed to be a free key to use from NVIDIA.
What I did is I copied the code from one of my WordPress sites, loaded it in, and I had Gemini change it over so it would work to be editable in Bootstrap Studio. I loaded the code into Gemini and then it provided me the cleaned up code that then I put in Bootstrap Studio and it worked.
But it’s been a nightmare trying to get it to even resemble the original site that I took it from because a lot of the formatting was off, none of the colors came in. So I’ve been having Quinn fix some of the things.
One thing that I can’t seem to figure out, and Quinn can’t seem to figure it out either, is I have a mixture of items that span across the website from right to left, but then other items that are in container-type boxes keeping everything in. But then I have banner areas that span across. Is there some way to mix the containers so some span full width and some don’t in the same design?
This is one of my websites that I was trying to convert over to HTML. You can see how it’s got many wide span areas, but most of the content is saved in a set area with just some banner areas spanning.
It took me 15 minutes to rebuild your index.html—just dragging and dropping components and copying your text. If you want to actually learn Bootstrap Studio, don’t let AI do the work for you, or you’ll be “coding” in robot mode forever.
I was using the AI mainly to change it over from the WordPress HTML to the full index HTML to Word, but it brought in the design so messed up. I spent hours trying to fix it.
Yes, I agree. I could have built the whole site from scratch just using the components in Bootstrap Studio. I was trying to see if I could grab a site and quickly be able to use it, which I was not able to.
Still some of the formatting that you did on that example is wrong. That’s some of the same problems I’ve been running into. Like some of the images that are side by side, some are larger than others, and that’s not the way they are on the original site. I haven’t been able to figure out how to fix that in Bootstrap Studio.
I’m going to be doing it from scratch to build another version. I just have a lot of websites that I want to work on converting. I thought it would be easier if I could just grab the WordPress code, drop it in, and then have it changed over to work in Bootstrap Studio as a starting point. Versus recreating everything from scratch.
This is one of my easier sites. Some of my other sites have a lot of things in them like contact forms and so on. I’m going to ask another question about that for another question. I will post.
Thanks.
