I bought this package three years ago and never used it, was surprised to be asked to make a payment to upgrade to the latest version considering it was called a lifetime purchase back in 2020.

Before you publicly condemn the program as a “rip off,” perhaps you should contact customer support about the issue? (email hi@bootstrapstudio.io) I’ve had the lifetime version of BSS since 2018, and it’s never requested payment for an update. If you bought the lifetime version in 2020, I seriously doubt you need to pay for an update. It’s probably just some sort of bug or quirk with the activation.
FYI, there were some recent installation issues with the last update which may be related to your problem.
