"Content not available in your region"

Hello. Can anyone tell me why I am seeing this “content not available in your region” stuff on this forum? Cheers!

You’ll see this on more than the forum as a UK user, this content is provided through an image sharing service called Imgur.

Imgur is under investigation about how they handle data under GDPR - since they didn’t want to comply to the investigation and are in position to get fined, they have instead chosen to withdraw their services from being accessable in the UK.

Hi @catkin. Thank you for your prompt and helpful response. Much Appreciated. Ditto for Bitchute. Sick of it.

It’s the perfect storm of the flaws in the UK’s new Online Safety Act and a US tech giants unwillingness to compromise unfortunately.

Aye. And the UK PM is charging on with the ID Card - without which you will not be able to work in the UK. Looking in my crystal ball I see a lot of stormy waters ahead.

The forum software (Discourse) supports pasting images directly into the posts, so I don’t know why anyone would bother to link to images hosted on a third-party platform. When I want to show someone a visual example of something, I just do a screen capture, crop the image in Photoshop (you could use any image editor) and then ctrl-c and ctrl-v directly into the forum post.

Thank you @printninja for responding. Aye. That’s exactly what I do too. Well, apart from the Photoshop bit. It’s Affinity Photo 2 for me
