From the research I’ve done on this forum, people seem to suggest the limit is 50 MB when using the built‑in Bootstrap Studio hosting. However, the Bootstrap Studio website doesn’t appear to state any maximum size.
After attempting to publish my site—which has just exceeded 30 MB—I received a message saying it couldn’t be published because it’s too large.
Due to compression the size of the bsdesign on disk does not match the bundle that is published to the service. So in some cases the app can reject the publish even if the bsdesign is smaller than 50mb. The solution is reducing the size or number of images will bring it down within the limits.
This limit is only for the free service we’re offering, if you have a hosting account setup with SFTP publishing there are no limits to the size.
the statement “… there are no limits to the size.” is not entirely correct. Large projects with many images can definitely reach limitations. If I remember correctly, the limit for the .bsdesign file is around 350 MB. At least one user in this forum has reported this. One of my projects was not far from that limit, so I had to change the structure.
