When deleting an image from the properties>SEO>Open Graph section, BSS only clears out the content attribute and doesn’t remove the tag. Is this expected behavior?

it gets removed on mine, are you running the latest version of BSS?
sorry, I tested with normal Meta Tags, scratch the above statement.

I believe so, since this resource is a package, you can get around this by deleting just the line you want in Design>Meta Tags, as shown in the image below.
