I’m trying to link a Smart Form so that the response shows up in a Google Sheet rather than having every form response be an email. Is that possible? Is it a Bootstrap setting or a Google setting?
Hi n00b,
Welcome to the forums.
You won’t be able to do this natively with the Easy Forms feature. This feature has been designed to be a simple solution for contact forms - not building anything complex.
You do have some options, easiest to hardest:
- Just use Google Forums and embed them on your site with an iframe.
- Setup a Zapier integration and disable Easy Forms and tell your form to post data to Zapier.
- Use Google App Scripts to create an integration to inset data into Sheets.
- If you have your own web server, write your own logic to create a spreadsheet of responses.
Thanks! I have used Google Forms and linked it to a Sheet but you can’t really customize the appearance of the form very easily and, as my name would suggest, I really have no idea what I’m doing! I will investigate your suggestions!
If you need more robust forms than the BSS Smart Form, I’d look at a third-party form service. One of the least expensive, most versatile offerings is Machform
Personally I use JotForm, but it’s quite expensive. I have a lot of clients, so I need a powerful form service.
