Hi team, smart forms have been getting a lot of spam messages lately, often the ones that are possibly sent by bots. I noticed this could be because of the missing recaptcha or other checks in a recent update. Because of which a script can be potentially used to fill the form with random data and submit too frequently.
Can you please bring the human check back? It’s better to give the user an extra step to verify than to get unwanted emails. Thank you.
We haven’t seen spam in our own forms, but maybe this depends on the website. Many people are opposed to the recaptcha check. We will think of a way to make it configurable so that only the people who want it to turn it on.
I would suggest, if possible, the JS adds a simple hidden honey pot field and checks the forms are not filled in extremely quickly. I used such checks on a site I built recently.
I have 5+ sites that recently started getting SPAM submissions. Unfortunately some of them go directly to my customers who reached out to me already.
Could you please recommend how to get captcha back or something else that will limit the bot submission?
Appreciate your help!
