Trying to Link to External CSS

Hi all,

I’m a brand-new user and am trying to link to an external CSS file to maintain consistency across three websites I’m transferring from Mobirise. No matter what I do, I cannot figure out out to link rather than import. Here’s a 1-minute video showing the process.

On a Macbook M4 using Bootstrap Studio 8.0. I am trying to Link External CSS to a file located in my Google Drive (local sync) folder. Every time I drag/drop or use the ‘Link’ menu, it performs a standard Import (no chain-link icon) instead of a live link. How do I force a local file link on MacOS?

I tried Option keys, File import, but nothing seems to work. Can someone please advise? Many thanks!

Bruce

Ahh, the video helps a lot!

So, the Link External CSS dialogue you’re opening is exclusively for a web URL to a CSS file on the web.

If you drag and drop any CSS, JS, or Image files into the application, it will import that file as is. Adding it to the design. So, this behaviour is expected, even if the dialogue box isn’t open.

If you would like to have a master CSS file, used across multiple sites that when you edit it, it shall update across all your sites. This is not supported within the application.

You’d need to host the CSS file somewhere where it can be accessed via a URL. And then use the Link External CSS function to point to that file.

I hope this information clarifies what you’re seeing!
