Version 4.3.1 is out!

unfortunately I received an error message during the activation

what error message during activation? Sorry to ask again. Where did you buy it from? Did you buy the software from this official website? I mean from this link: https://bootstrapstudio.io/#purchase

Why did you install a very old legacy version, then tried to install on Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 and Linux mint instead of just complaining that the code you bought and received from the developer did not work?

You think it’s normal? definitely not.

I uninstall the old version then download and install the new version

- first launch of the latest version https://photos.app.goo.gl/LvNQ67bT2RYoXqPY9
- After adding the activation license https://photos.app.goo.gl/FKh53gWjoRrn4YMZ8
- After a short period of waiting, I get this error message https://photos.app.goo.gl/zeTg8z4erXoYjtDcA
- After closing and restarting the application, I remain blocked at this level. finally, we have the error: "An error occurred while validating your license. Please try again"

That's a Linux Mint instance running inside a container, not a standard computer connected to the internet. Many things can go wrong with that setup.

contact the developer directly, but first, check that your internet connectivity is ok, not firewalled or proxied. Better, try to activate a fully updated (1803) windows 10 version running on a real computer, not inside a VM.

Another thing that comes to mind is that since you also activated old v.2 maybe you already used the 3 licensed computers you have. But you'd better contact the developer directly: https://bootstrapstudio.io/contact-us

Another thing too is that if you had version 2 purchased, and installed, it would have upgraded to version 4 along the way same as it has for all of us. If you just purchased a new copy, you wasted your money if you already owned version 2, it unless you had a pirated copy of version 2, which would then make sense why the license wouldn't work.

Bootstrap hasn't made anyone repurchase the software since as long as I've used it which was during version 2 over 2 years ago, so once again ... something smells fishy around here.

also, the screenshot doesn't prove anything as far as that you purchased the software. It's a generic screenshot, nothing shows your identity on it anywhere and there is nothing showing anything at all about being licensed to you. That screenshot could have been taken by anyone. I personally have never seen the app show that it was updating, it pops up a message to tell you a new version is available or has been installed and tells you to restart. When you restart it's already installed.

Other than that, same as I've said to all others that have asked the same question the last couple days, all from different countries as well which doesn't seem like a coincidence to me either. Contact the developer for issues with your license. We CANNOT help you here on the forums, we are users just like you.

@cannel If your in Abidjan, not sure why were seeing english and USD. So if this is a legitimate copy then go back to the download page and download version 4. Close ALL those programs down you have running and install. If you have any antivirus or firewalls running make sure your permissions are correct. Enjoy Bootstrap Studio.

I have Bootstrap Studio running on Windows and Linux without issues.

Is there any way of getting the old interface back. I don't like to tweak settings while half the screen is taken up by the options panels. Here I am trying to tweak the top menu, which is all hidden in the new layout. Can i get the old style interface where the Look & Feel, Options and Animation panel were on extreme right panel and not obscuring the page viewscreenshot

LOL seriously, you need to look more closely at how things work with this new version. First,

 1. Click the panel on the right that you have open (look and feel) and that will slide that part shut.
 2. Now slide the right sidebar interface all the way to the right so it is just buttons and no text.
 3. Now when you want to change something click the button of the panel you want to open, make your changes and close it, or, leave it open as it won't be over your work area then, or if it is, it's just a small bit.

You can do the same with the left panel too which gives you a ton more space in the center work area.

I for one do NOT want to have it back the way it was and I'm sure most others don't either!

Thank you for your help
