Hi, where do people find web developers to help with site development? I tried a couple of local companies but they try to sell me their wordpress packages which i am not interested in.
I had a look at Fiverr and there aren’t many who mention bootstrap studio, but quite afew who mention bootstrap, so maybe I just need to pick someone who understands bootstrap who can create a template for me and I can upload that into bootstrap.
I can manage basic things in bootstrap studio but I am really lacking in design skills. I will also need someone to implement a functioning contact form.
If you have a specific freelancer on fiverr or elsewhere you can recommend let me know.
I guess it all really comes down to your requirements, the features you want your site to have and if you already have a clear design language/brand colours, logos and content already.
I run a web design and hosting business, I’ve got a queue of customers just now. My pricing varies, but it’s always refreshing when a client knows what they want their site to do and have content written and images they want to be on their site, makes my job easier and I often half my price for those with that setup.
I tend to stay away from Fiverr these days, it’s a race to the bottom on who can offer the cheapest service, or extremely expensive. Theses very little middle ground now.
I’ve started using UpWork and it’s been much better, it’s easier to interview developers, people want to offer you great service and the platform is much better at dealing with disputes.

You might typically expect to hire a designer to design the site, and then a developer to turn the design into code.

There are number of us here that are in the industry. Once you get the scope of the job sorted, you could post that outline here, and you might attract some freelancers interested in taking it on.
And I agree above, Fivvr requires a lot of work filtering out those offering next to nothing prices that scale very quickly into something expensive. I have used it in the past though for outsourcing custom code due to time constraints.
